BLACK + SILVER

¡Hola amores! El post de hoy va a ser un poco diferente. 

Hoy os voy a hablar de mi accesorio fetiche: las sandalias de plataforma. Como habréis visto en la foto, llevo unas sandalias plateadas con una suela-plataforma de goma blanca. Me hice con ellas el verano pasado y desde entonces no he dejado de llevarlas.
(Primero de todo, quiero decir que, aunque suba el post hoy, tanto el outfit como la foto son de verano)
Me encanta combinarlas con negro, creando un contraste que las hace aún más llamativas de lo que son. En este caso he decidido llevarlas con un top de Brandy y unos shorts altos, creando un look muy fresquito y veraniego, ¡necesario en esta isla tan calurosa! 
Sé que para muchas de vosotras este outfit es algo diferente pero la verdad es que a mi me fascina este estilo. Aún así me encantaría que me dijerais qué opináis de él.

Hi loves! Today's post is going to be a little different.
I'm going to talk about my fetish accesory: platform shoes. As you may have seen in the picture, ÇI'm wearing silver shoes with white platform. I got them last summer and I fell in love with them. Since then I haven´t stopped wearing them.
(First of all, I want to say that this this picture was taken in summer.)
I love the combination of silver and black, creating a contrast that makes it evern more striking than they actually are, In this case, I decided to wear them with a Brandy top and high waisted shorts (all black), creating such a cool and summery look, necessary in this hot island!
I know that for many of you this outfit is a little bit different but the truth is that I'm tottally in love with the style. Anyway, I'd like you to tell me what you think about it.

BACK TO THE 70's

Europa, 1960. Diez de la mañana de un día cualquiera. El mundo amanece expectante de una nueva tendencia, aún por conocer. Sin embargo, en un lugar cualquiera, aparece. Algunos lo llamarán pantalón "campana", otros preferirán el nombre "flares"; pero todos coincidirán en una misma cosa: el inició de una nueva revolución en la moda.

Cuenta la leyenda que estos pantalones fueron vistos por primera vez como parte del uniforme de los U.S. Navy en 1813. Pero no fue hasta 1960, cuando la gente empezó a llevarlos realmente. Tanto mujeres como hombres, ambos hipnotizados por su forma extravagante decidieron combinarlos de mil formas diferentes: desde botas de cowboy, hasta tacones o bailarinas.

Llegando a 1967, ya eran considerados una prenda hippie, asociada a la paz, el amor, las coronas de flores... Digamos que quedaron en el olvido, hasta la década siguiente.

En los 70, los pantalones campana fueron la prenda dominante. Y todo ello fue gracias a la cantante Cher que, llevándolos en su programa de TV, volvió a ponerlos de moda. Desde ese momento, no han dejado de ser una de las prendas estrella de nuestro armario. 

Idolatrados por unos e incomprendidos por otros, se han convertido en uno de los enseres de colección vintage por excelencia. 

Y por último me gustaría recordar algo que dijo Andy Warhol una vez: 

"La idea no es vivir para siempre, sino crear algo que sí lo haga."

... que, sin referirse a este artículo en concreto, estaba reafirmando la realidad de su existencia.

Europe, 1960. Ten o'clock on a typical day. The world dawns expectant of a new trend, yet unknown. However, somewhere somehow, it appears. Some people call them "Bell-bottoms", others prefer the name "flares"; but everyone will agree on one thing: The start of a new fashion revolution.

Legend hast it that these pants were first wore by U.S. Navy in 1813, as a part of their uniform. It wasn't until 1960, when people started wearing them. Both women and men were hipnotized by its extravagant shape. They decided to combine them in thousand different ways: from cowboy boots to heels slippers.

In 1967, they already were considered a hippie garment associated with peace, love, flower crowns... But they finished being forgotten until the next decade.

In the 70's, bell-bottoms were the dominant pledge. All this was because of the singer Cher, who wore them during her famous TV show, and turned them fashionable again. Since then, they have continued to be one of the star items of our wardrobe.

Idolized by some and misunderstood by others, they've become one of the articles par excellence.

And finally, I would like to recall something that Andy Warhol once said:

"The idea is not to live forever, but to creatr something that does."

... and without referring to this particular article, he was affirming the reality of their existence.

STILETTOS FEVER

Seguir la moda y las tendencias es como un viaje al pasado. Porque, como pasa con casi todo, las tendencias van y vienen. Y es entonces cuando comprendemos que todo en la moda tiene su origen y su por qué. 

Si retrocedemos en el tiempo hasta los años 40, descubrimos a un diseñador francés llamado André Perugia. Un hombre humilde que empezó a los dieciséis años trabajando en un tienda de zapatos hechos a mano, desde donde se catapultó hacia el éxito. Gracias a él, hoy en día todas las mujeres podemos tener, al menos, un par de stilettos en nuestro armario. Y es que gracias a su ingenio y a su originalidad, años después otros diseñadores como Manolo Blahnik pudieron tomar referencia de su trabajo.  

Este tipo de tacón adquirió gran importancia décadas después y fue considerado un fetiche de la moda. Otros lo calificaron como un "accesorio exótico", con el que las mujeres seducían a los hombres sin apenas esfuerzo. 

Y volviendo al presente, se han convertido en un accesorio imprescindible tanto para celebrities, como para todas nosotras. No importa la marca, el color o la altura; lo que realmente interesa y los hace tan deseados es la forma que tienen de estilizar la figura y provocar esa sensación de seguridad en ti misma. Y es que, como dijo una vez Christian Louboutin: 

" Los zapatos transforman tu lenguaje corporal. Te levantan física y emocionalmente."

Following fashion and trends is like a journey through time, just because trends come and go. And that's when we realize that everything in fashion has its origin and explanation.

If we go back in time to the 40s, we discover a French designer named André Perugia. An extremely humble man who started working in a handmade shoe store at the age of sixteen, the place that catapulted him to success. Thanks to him, today all women can have, at least, a pair of stilettos in their closet. And thanks to his wit and originality, years after other designers like Manolo Blahnik could take reference of his job.

This type of heel gained so much more popularity years later and it was considered a huge fashion fetish. Others called it "an exotic accessory", with which women seduced men without even trying.

Back to the present, stilettos have become an essential accessory for both celebrities, as for all of us. No matter the brand, colour or height; what really matters and makes them so desirable it's the way they stylize your own body shape and how they cause that feeling of security in yourself. So, like Christian Louboutin once said: 

"Shoes transform your body language and attitude. They lift you up physically and emotionally."

READY FOR SALE!

¡Por fin han llegado las rebajas!

No sé vosotr@s pero yo soñaba con que llegarán pronto. 

Los expertos dicen que solo debemos comprar aquello que necesitemos. Pues ¿sabéis qué? ¡Yo digo que nos volvamos loc@s!, que compremos lo que nos apetezca, sea necesario o no.

Todo lo necesario ya lo compramos durante el año;¡ ¡Las rebajas están para comprarse un capricho, o dos, o tres!

Mi consejo a la hora de comprar, ya sea en rebaja o durante cualquier día del año, es: Si te enamora, cómpralo; si no, significa que hay algo mejor esperándote en otra tienda. 

Por cierto, yo estas rebajas me he comprado el abrigo que veréis abajo y un par de cositas más. La verdad es que fue ver el abrigo y enamorarme de él; y aunque me costó conseguirlo, ¡por fin es mío!

They are finally here!

I don't know about you but I've been looking forward so much for them to arrive.

Experts say that we should only buy what we need. Well, guess what? I say let's get crazy! Just buy what you want, it doesn't matter if it's necessary or not.

Everything that you need, you buy it during the year. Sales are there to buy a whim, or two, or three!

My advice when it comes to buy something, whether is on sale's time or any other day of the year, is: If you love it, just buy it! If not, that means there's something better waiting for you at another store.

By the way, I just got the perfect coat ever, the one below, and a few more things. The truth is that I saw that coat and I just fell in love with it. And although it was hard for me to get it, ¡it's finally mine!

MY LATEST OBSESSION

Hoy os voy a hablar de mi ultima obsesión: los pantalones de traje en una mujer.

Esos pantalones que siempre han sido "una prenda de hombre" y que gracias al pensamiento innovador de Yves Saint Laurent, hoy en día todas las mujeres podemos llevarlos ya que, como él mismo dijo:

"La moda no solo está hecha para embellecer a las mujeres, sino también para darles seguridad y confianza", y así lo hizo.

Quien diría que una cosa tan simple como es la de poner una prenda de hombre en una mujer, daría pie a una revolución en la moda y en la forma de ver el mundo de las mujeres del siglo XXI, creando así una imagen de mujer trabajadora y a la vez elegante, con un doble sentido: la mujer tiene el mismo derecho y capacidad que el hombre para realizar cualquier tipo de oficio.

Y ¿qué me decís del jersey de cuello alto? Esa prenda que ha seguido presente aún con el paso de los años. Y que, en mi opinión, es elegante y versátil al mismo tiempo.

Tanto lo puedes combinar con unos vaqueros y una zapatillas e ir súper cómoda, como con unos pantalones de traje y unos stilettos y ya estás lista para ir de cena con las amigas!

A lo que me refiero con todo esto es que no hay nada malo en ser innovadoras y probar cosas nuevas. ¿Quien sabe? A lo mejor en unos años ¡nos da por llevar rodilleras en vez de cortes en los pantalones! 

Today I'll talk about my latest obsession: women's suit pants.

These pants have always been "a man's piece" and thanks to the innovative thinking of Yves Saint Laurent, today all women can wear them. And like he said:

"Fashion is not only made to beautify women, but also to give them confidence and trust", and so he did.

Who knew that such a simple thing as putting a man's piece into a woman's body would lead to a fashion revolution. And also to this huge change of vision in the twenty-first century's women, creating an image of elegant working woman. 

An image with a double meaning: the woman has the same right and ability as the man to do any job.

And, what about the turtleneck sweater? That pledge has always been with us over the years. And, in my opinion, it's such an elegant and versatile piece at the same time.

Maybe you can combine it with jeans and sneakers and you just go super comfortable, or wear it with suit pants and stilettos and you're ready to go to dinner with friends!

What I mean with all this is that there's nothing wrong with being innovative or spontaneous and trying new things. Who knows? Maybe in a few years we'll be wearing patches on the knees instead of ripped jeans!
